During cosmetic rhinoplasty, or nasal refinement surgery, Dr. Yellin uses his artistic vision and judgment to sculpt a more attractive nose that works in harmony with your face and to enhance functionality, when necessary. Reconstructive rhinoplasty is intended to reestablish a more normal nasal appearance and nasal function when the nose has been altered due to injury, cancer resection, underlying disease, or congenital deformity.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Yellin will do a detailed nasal analysis, including facial and nasal measurements, which he’ll compare against normal standards based on ethnicity. Dr.Yellin will then describe his proposed operative plan, based on what you’ve told him you’d like to see and what he knows he can realistically achieve. Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. The rhinoplasty operation takes approximately two hours, and complete rhinoplasty healing can take up to 18 months.
