Several different FDA-approved injectable materials are available for line and wrinkle therapy and facial-volume enhancement. Products such as Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Radiesse® are all dermal fillers intended to create a volumetric enhancement to the skin that will last between nine months and two years, depending on what is injected and its location on the face.
Sculptra® is used to naturally stimulate the patient’s own collagen and may provide 3-5 years of volumetric enhancement. However, Sculptra® often requires a few treatments and takes several months to show results, whereas other materials will produce an immediate improvement.
