Another year is coming to a close. While we must acknowledge with sadness the year’s political discord, mass shootings, world terrorism, and sexual harassment, 2017 was also a great year. Our practice is thriving thanks to my professional, talented and thoughtful staff. We continue to grow and take great pride in helping our patients look and feel great. This year we added Emily as an aesthetic coordinator to make sure that we are meeting the needs of our new aesthetic patients. She has been particularly helpful in managing our SNAP consults and improving connectivity with our dermatology colleagues at Marietta Dermatology. We have a new face at check out with Laurielyn, who can verbally juggle 5 balls without breaking a sweat. Our aesthetic injector Kelly Houmand, PA and Jennifer her MA are doing wonderfully. They have enabled us to reduce wait times for non-surgical aesthetic patients and deliver results that help patients look and feel their best. Aleasha, my MA, has been promoted to senior aesthetic assistant and we are adding Desiree at the beginning of December as our new surgical scrub tech. Aleasha had 10 years of dermatology experience before joining my team, and is very skilled at treating sebaceous hyperplasia, little unsightly, skin-colored bumps that are enlarged oil glands. For those with this condition, her talents are greatly appreciated.
We have added CuteraHR for hair removal, Laser Genesis for laser facials and BBL the newest, safest and most effective IPL machine on the market today. We have also seen CoolSculpting, which freezes away excess fat and Ultherapy, which non-invasively tightens skin, continue to improve and evolve to deliver better results more efficiently. Also, we introduced several new fillers including Defyne and Refyne, which help me create long-lasting, naturally appearing facial re-volumization and rejuvenation.
Minimally invasive surgery continues to grow in popularity, including in-office brow lifting, eyelid surgery, CO2 laser skin resurfacing, direct neck lifting and ThermiAesthetic radiofrequency face and neck tightening. To make scheduling more consistent for these procedures as well as those requiring general anesthesia, such as facelifts and rhinoplasty (which are done at Marietta Surgical Center) we are going to a block schedule starting in January. Mondays and Thursdays will be reserved for aesthetic surgery primarily. However, in the interest of our patients, we will continue to offer aesthetic surgery on other days when necessary and will offer injectable treatments throughout the week.
Have a wonderful holiday season! Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and Happy New Year to you all.
