Mirror, Mirror On The Wall… How’s My Face Looking After All?

Time ticks. You grow older and hopefully wiser with each passing day. You do your best to stay healthy. You eat well, maybe take some nutritional supplements, exercise regularly and protect your skin from the sun. You feel great.

Now look in the mirror. I mean really look at your self. Your body may be toned; perhaps you’re carrying a few extra pounds. You know how to fix that, eat less and increase your activity level. You may even wish to remake your body. With hard work, good choices, discipline and determination, I know you can do it.

But, what about your face?

Starting to see a bit of drooping skin on your upper lids, a little puffiness under your eyes, perhaps your jawline and neck are beginning to sag. How about your skin? Are the lines of your face now a permanent fixture rather than a passing expression? Is you hair thinning, your eyelashes no longer glamorous? Well if you’re a woman, make-up may help. But remember, make-up is intended to enhance your beauty. But what happens if it is your beauty itself that is disappearing?

As a facial plastic surgeon, I help people deal with these issues every day. The first, and perhaps most important thing to remember is that being healthy and choosing a healthy lifestyle will always make you look and feel better. However, with time, no amount of exercise, good nutrition, and skin care will prevent the aging of your face. Now for the good news… the medical and surgical science of beauty has advanced to such a degree that looking your best is a personal choice.

With advances in the field of facial aesthetics we have reached the point where I can often provide my patients long lasting and meaningful aesthetic facial improvements with a minimum of downtime and risk in ways that I couldn’t even dream of just 10 years ago. But remember, when entrusting your face to a healthcare professional, the provider you choose can mean the difference between looking fabulous or freaky. From the initial analysis of your face, to the products and techniques I select to correct sagging skin, textural changes and volume loss, the rejuvenation of your face is an artistic endeavor honed by years of experience. The skilled facial plastic surgeon will not only provide you with the natural appearance you desire, but will more than likely enhance your self esteem as well.
