January Newsletter 2022

Welcome to 2022! With the new year comes new opportunities. I, for one, am excited about a number of upcoming professional initiatives. For starters, we will be launching our new website this year, a project that has taken many months of hard work by everyone involved. We are also expanding our aesthetics services at our flagship location in Marietta and our satellite office in West Cobb, with 5 full-time aestheticians (once Casey returns from maternity leave–she recently welcomed her first child, a healthy son). Throughout the year, our team will be introducing new and innovative skincare products and services to help us all look our best. Due to high demand, we are adding a second BBL (Broad Band Light) machine at our Marietta location, which will make scheduling this treatment in a timely manner much easier. BBL treatments are a safe and effective way to increase the skin’s collagen. It is also a frequently recommended therapy for fine lines and can reduce unwanted thin, superficial blood vessels (think Rosacea) and unsightly brown, blotchy pigmentation, making the skin look more even-toned and youthful. With the latest BBL machine, we will also be adding MOXI and HERO technologies to further improve skin texture with much faster treatment times. Stay tuned to future newsletters for details.
Also, I will be working with our West Cobb aesthetics team leader, Kelly Houmand, PA-C, once she returns from maternity leave (she recently welcomed her third healthy daughter to her beautiful family) to continue to expand the practice due to ever-increasing patient interest. In addition to utilizing my Injecta-Lift technique, Kelly has expanded her services to include Qwo, which treats cellulite and injectable collagen stimulators to thicken skin and improve its appearance on the arms, legs and torso. This complements the work she is doing with Profound RF treatments to stimulate elastin production in these areas, making the skin look and act more youthful. For those requiring selective fat reduction for the belly, arms, legs, bra-strap area, etc., remember that our aesthetics team is specially-trained at CoolSculpting® University to optimize your CoolSculpting® outcome and that this service is available at both of our locations.
Thanks to the efforts of my entire team as well as my happy patients, the demand for my clinical services continues to accelerate. As I have spoken about in previous emails, new patient consults are now scheduling months out and finding time for procedures is a constant challenge, particularly if someone needs treatment very quickly. So if you can, please look ahead at your anticipated aesthetic goals and timeframes; that will give us a much better chance of accommodating you in a timely manner.
Lastly, I have had the pleasure of performing otoplasty (reshaping prominent ears) and rhinoplasty (reshaping the nose) on a number of siblings, which makes sense since these types of physical traits often run in families. Once one sibling has had surgery and loves the outcome, the other sibling(s) want the same for themselves. I recently saw a family whose son and daughter I operated on many years ago. They shared with me that fixing their noses at a critical time of their young lives gave them so much more confidence. It was great to see them fully grown and starting families of their own. It never ceases to amaze me how just a few hours of time in the OR can change a person’s outlook for a lifetime. I love my job!
