From The Corner Office

After months of searching, testing multiple devices, traveling to other cities to attend informational conferences, going to after-work corporate events (when I would prefer to head home after a busy day at the office), speaking with colleagues around the country, and reading relevant white papers and scientific publications, I am excited to introduce SYLFIRM X, a cutting-edge technology that will substantially add to our already wide-ranging capabilities to help us care for you and your skin.

This new device will enable our team to:

  • Safely treat patients of all hues to improve skin elasticity and dermal collagen, including the delicate eyelid skin
  • Enhance skin texture and tone
  • Selectively reduce targeted fat
  • Improve difficult to treat excess pigmentation and melasma
  • Quiet active acne and reduce the appearance of acne scars
  • Revitalize hair growth in areas of thinning
  • And much, much more

The technology combines a bi-polar, non-insulated ultra-fine gold (an excellent electrical conductor) needle delivery system with dual wave, multi-level radio-frequency technology. This technology will be paired with topically applied Exosome Regenerative Complex. This recent innovation uses growth factors, mRNA, and other active ingredients to revitalize skin by improving intercellular communication, enabling skin cells to work together more efficiently to aid in skin repair and expedite reduction in post-treatment skin redness. The treatments are performed using either topical numbing cream or in some cases, no anesthesia at all. In fact, I tested this claim by having my upper and lower eyelids treated without any numbing cream and it was comfortable. I then immediately returned to seeing patients in the office. Easy-peasy!

Typically, SYLFIRM X will be recommended as a series of three to six treatments, depending on the problem being addressed and individual patient response. The treatments will be performed by our aestheticians and my senior medical assistant, depending again on what we are targeting and what team you are working with. Our team will be trained this summer so stay tuned to our upcoming announcements for more details about when SYLFIRM X will be available.

More exciting news! I have been patiently and methodically searching for a new medical assistant for six months. Good things come to those who wait; I have finally found the right person for the position. I am pleased to welcome Rae Padgett to the team. She has joined Melissa Lopez, Desiree Hatten, Kelly Houmand PA-C and me in caring for all of you. She has 17 years of medical and surgical dermatology assistant experience and has been working in the medical filed for more than 20 years. Rae has been with our practice for three weeks now, though it feels as if she has always been part of the care team. I look forward to you getting to know her.

There are more exciting new additions to the practice that will coming this summer, so stay tuned for our upcoming newsletters for updates and to learn more about our aesthetic deals and product specials.

Have a fun, active and safe summer and don’t forget the sunblock!
